SYNOPSIS

Perhaps no American city is more misunderstood than Baltimore, Maryland. It’s not quite northern, not quite southern. A small town overshadowed by its eminent neighbors. Home to a population with an odd dialect, arcane quirks, and a collective inferiority complex.

Baltimore's rich history is far too often obscured by a contemporary image of poverty, violence and urban decay. A reputation that belies its enduring contributions to American literature, science, civil rights and culture.

Baltimore 100 Years is both an analysis and a celebration of a unique history that few American cities can claim. The series offers more than nostalgia; it is a journey to better understand the ground upon which we stand, and initiate a conversation about where we might go from here.
